We are a group of dietitians appropriately experienced and qualified deliver dietary advice using Nutritional Medical Therapy to help people with everyday healthy eating and practical strategies to manage health conditions and nutrition related diseases.

The Life! program

Nutrition Health and Wellbeing (NHW) are proud to be LIFE! Program providers and facilitate group programs across Victoria.

Life! is a free healthy lifestyle program that helps you improve your eating habits, increase your physical activity and manage stress. Life! is funded by the Victorian Government and coordinated by Diabetes Victoria. It is the largest prevention program of its kind in Australia and since the program began in 2007, over 60,000 people have joined.

Our experienced Dietitians will help you make small changes to your lifestyle so that you can achieve your health goals and reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. You can choose from a group course or the Telephone Health Coaching service.

The Life! group course

There are seven sessions in the group course and these are delivered over 12 months.

Life! group courses are available in most metropolitan and regional communities. You will receive a comprehensive participant workbook full of practical information as well as emails between sessions to keep you motivated. The Life! group course can also be tailored to employees in workplace settings.

Introduction – Welcome to Life!

In this one-on-one session you’ll discuss your lifestyle and work with your facilitator to set your health goals.

Session 1 – Program overview

Learn more about changing your lifestyle to improve your health and reduce your risk of chronic disease.

Session 2 – Healthy eating

Learn more about nutrition including reading food labels and modifying recipes, and set achievable healthy eating goals.

Session 3 – Physical activity

Understand how to incorporate more exercise into your lifestyle and set achievable physical activity goals.

Session 4 – Wellbeing

Learn more about the importance of stress management, relaxation and sleep.

Session 5 – Progress

Understand how to manage setbacks and barriers and set new long-term goals.

12-month Check-in

Discuss any challenges you have faced, review your goals and set new ones.

Session Duration

Sessions range from 1-2 hrs and are spaced out throughout a 12 month period.
