If thoughts about food and eating have taken over your life, or your relationship with your body and food is affecting your emotional, mental and/or physical health, support and guidance from a NHW dietitian can help. A dietitian’s role is crucial in managing eating disorders and disordered eating behaviours to ensure optimal outcomes for a clients health and recovery.
At Nutrition Health and Wellbeing we take a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to the care of the patients, and, where appropriate, work closely with GP and psychologist or psychiatrist in order to ensure patient management is optimised, and adequate support is provided.
From 1 November 2019, some Australians experiencing eating disorders are eligible to access more additional subsidised support through Medicare. Known as an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), the plan can include up to 20 Medicare-subsidised sessions with a dietitian and 40 sessions with a mental health clinician over a 12-month period.
